History
Built for the Australian Department of Army by Clyde Wagon Workshops in 1951, these girder-framed wooden decked, high capacity Rail Flat Wagons were designed to mobilise Centurion Tanks if and when duty called. The Rail Flat Wagons transported various other Military training equipment prior to being made available to NSWGR as spaces for special load traffic. If fitted with a boggie and bolster, they could carry long thin cargo such as timber, rails and steel.
