GETTING TO THE HANGAR
The Avalon Hangar 1 is situated between Melbourne CBD and Geelong. At just 56 kilometres from the Melbourne CBD it is an easy, 46-minute, toll free drive from the CBD.
From Melbourne’s CBD, cross over the Westgate Bridge and travel along the Princes Freeway towards Geelong. Take the Avalon turn-off (Beach Road), turn right onto Canberra Drive, head through the first roundabout and then turn first left. Follow signs to parking and Aircraft Inspection Hangar.
Avalon Hangar 1 is only 20 kilometres from Geelong’s CBD. It’s just a 25 minute journey when you travel along the Princes Freeway towards Melbourne for approximately 15 minutes and take the Avalon turn-off (Beach Road), turn right onto Canberra Drive, head through the first roundabout and then turn first left. Follow signs to parking and Aircraft Inspection Hangar.

There are 2 main airports when arriving in Melbourne or returning home – Melbourne Airport and Avalon Airport. Melbourne’s main airport is Melbourne Airport. Locals sometimes call the airport Tullamarine. This is Melbourne’s international airport.
Melbourne Airport is a little over 60 km from Hangar 1, 80 Beach Road, Lara. The Tullamarine Freeway links the airport and M2 to take you on your way down to Avalon. Travel to and from the airport by bus or car.
Melbourne’s second largest airport is Avalon Airport. Avalon Airport sits between Melbourne and Geelong. If you arrive on an Air Asia flight or if you are flying to or from another part of Australia on Jetstar you will probably travel to and from Avalon Airport.
Hangar 1, 80 Beach Road is a short drive or walk from the airport Terminal.
From Avalon Airport Terminal, Hangar 1 is a short drive or walk with ride share, UBER or Taxi options available.
